Nella Terra di Pagani was built two centuries ago as a farmhouse, and has been preserved, unchanged, with its characteristic rural architecture. Walls and interiors, despite being completely restored and adapted to modern requirements, recall the atmosphere of a simple, real, industrious and genuine life, paced by seasons and alien to the contradictions which generate and feed our stress. The restoration has, therefore, given the sites history a continuity, making it an oasis of peace and tranquillity amid a territory rich in historic and artistic witnesses of great value.
Vincenzo Pagani (1490? — 1568) was a famous painter from Monterubbiano (known today as the land of Pagani). Vincenzo was the son of Giovanni, from whom he learned the trade. With influences that include Umbrian and Venetian paintings and the artists Carlo Crivelli, Luca Signorelli and Lorenzo Lotto, Pagani's artworks, as well as those of several other internationally renowned artists, his canvases can be admired in several places within the Piceno.
TheTouring Club Italiano has granted Monterubbiano the orange flag. It is a prestigious acknowledgement. A tourist and environmental seal of quality for inland villages, granted to those resorts which meet specific criteria of quality development in tourism.
